We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our busy warehouse facility in Des Moines, Iowa. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is vital to maintaining the flow of goods within our distribution center, ensuring that inventory is handled properly and efficiently. You will be operating powered industrial trucks to transport materials, ensuring that all loads are secure and moved in accordance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe operation, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload shipments from trucks and trailers.
- Move inventory to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on forklifts.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movement and location.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety rules and regulations.
- Assist with inventory counts and other warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or experience.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and balance.
- Commitment to safety and proper use of PPE.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
