About
Our growing logistics operation in Durham, North Carolina, is looking for a meticulous Receiving Clerk to manage the inbound flow of goods. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy, quality, and proper documentation. Your role is essential in maintaining inventory integrity and supporting the efficient operations of our distribution center. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from various carriers.
- Verify the quantity and quality of received goods against purchase orders and shipping manifests.
- Inspect products for damages and report any issues promptly.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label items as required for internal tracking and storage.
- Organize and stage received goods for distribution to appropriate warehouse areas.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving dock area.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counting as needed.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, drivers, and internal warehouse staff.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory, or a related logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using scanners and data entry for inventory systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Basic understanding of warehouse safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to adhere to strict safety protocols and wear required PPE.
