About
We are hiring experienced Forklift Operators for our Grand Rapids, Michigan location. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise in our warehouse. Your expertise with various types of forklifts will be essential in managing our inventory and ensuring the smooth flow of goods within the facility. This role demands a strong adherence to safety protocols and a high level of operational proficiency. You will be a critical part of our logistics chain, ensuring materials are in the right place at the right time.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move pallets and materials.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Store materials in designated rack locations, ensuring stability and accessibility.
- Pick and stage orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy.
- Perform daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate records of material movement and inventory levels.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, including proper operation procedures and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as required.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of obstructions.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations and logistics.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification (or willingness to obtain one).
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Good spatial awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet performance expectations.
- Experience with scanning equipment and warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of general logistics principles.
