Job Summary:
Operate powered industrial trucks safely and efficiently as a Forklift Operator at our Madison, Wisconsin facility. This role is critical to our warehouse operations, ensuring the timely and accurate movement of materials. You will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, moving inventory within the facility, and staging goods for production or shipment. A strong commitment to safety, adherence to operating procedures, and attention to detail are paramount. Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, electric) to move, stack, load, and unload materials.
  • Verify loads for accuracy and stability before transportation.
  • Transport inventory between different areas of the warehouse, including receiving, storage, and shipping docks.
  • Assist with receiving and put-away processes, ensuring items are placed in correct locations.
  • Conduct daily pre-operation inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance issues.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, free from obstructions.
  • Support inventory control activities as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient logistics flow.
  • Participate in training sessions to maintain certification and improve skills.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and the proper use of PPE.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
