We are looking for a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa. This position is crucial for managing the inbound flow of goods into our warehouse, ensuring all items are accounted for and stored correctly. You will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and updating our inventory system. A strong emphasis on accuracy, organization, and safety is essential for success in this role. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments accurately.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies, documenting any issues.
- Verify received items against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Enter receiving data into the inventory management system promptly and accurately.
- Stage received goods for put-away or distribution.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety guidelines, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, internal departments, and the logistics team.
- Assist with inventory control and reconciliation as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory, or a related logistics field is preferred.
- Proficiency with basic computer skills and data entry.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and using PPE.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
