About
Are you a skilled Forklift Operator looking for a new opportunity in Washington, D.C.? We are seeking experienced operators to join our logistics team, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of materials within our distribution center. Your primary responsibility will be to operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to transport raw materials, finished goods, and other items throughout the facility. This role is crucial for maintaining the flow of inventory and supporting our overall logistics operations. You will be responsible for inspecting equipment before and after use, performing routine checks, and reporting any maintenance issues promptly. Adherence to strict safety protocols is paramount, and you will be expected to use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE ) and follow established operating procedures. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and maintain a high level of accuracy is essential. This position also involves some manual labor, including lifting and moving items up to 50 lbs when necessary. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas.
- Transport materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance on equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of material movement.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Use designated PPE at all times while operating machinery.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Identify and report any hazards or equipment malfunctions.
- Support overall warehouse operations and logistics flow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics .
- Strong understanding of forklift operating procedures and safety best practices.
- Ability to perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance.
- Willingness to wear and properly use all required PPE .
- Ability to perform tasks involving lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
