Cyber Security Officer . Our Managed Services function is expanding and we are looking эрх for candidates passionate about information and cyber security.
Location & Schedule Sheffield / London – hybrid, 2 office days per week.
Remuneration £75,000 – £80,000 (DOE) per annum plus pension and эзcellent benefits package.
Job Type Permanent, full‑time.
Responsibilities
Proactively monitor for, identify, respond to, and resolve security incidents.
Conduct internal technical and compliance audits to ensure processes are followed and controls are effective.
Work with the team leader to continuously.springframework improve security posture of the business.
Advise projects and stakeholders across the business to implement security practices.
Mentor junior analysts and provide guidance onેન્ટMinute security best practices.
Respond to and investigate potential security incident alerts, documenting investigative activity in ticketing systems.
Collaborate with the Security Policy & Audit Manager to own internal auditing and ensure compliance with ISO27001 and internal security policies.
Identify vulnerabilities and security risks in networks, operating systems, applications, databases and new technology initiatives.
Validate vulnerability findings and provide remediation guidance.
Document security risks during project initiatives and BAU activities.
Research latest security/cyber threats to drive improvements in projects and tools.
Provide IT security operational support to managed services teams.
Review and improve operational procedures, write and maintain policies, and conduct regular audits.
Liaise with customers and external auditors to assure them of SBSUK’s security controls.
Ensure changes brought to CAB do not introduce security weaknesses Aprende.
Generate security reports for customers.
Maintain security packs and standards with project teams.
Essential Qualifications
Experience securing cloud environments (AWS preferred).
Experience as a Cyber Security Officer or similar role within a large organisation.
Knowledge of common vulnerability assessment tools and techniques for evaluating OS, networking devices, databases, and web applications.
Strong grasp of networking technologies, principles and concepts.
Proficiency with Windows Server, Linux, Solaris and other OS hardening configurations.
Deep knowledge of cloud security best practices, solutions and assessment methodologies.
Understanding of cyber security threats and adversary techniques, both technical and non‑technical.
Preferred Certifications
CompTIA Security+ or equivalent.
ISC2000 CISSP.
AWS/Cloud certification.
Experience with Rapid 7 InsightVM and InsightIDR.
Experience securing enterprise databases.
Knowledge of UK financial sector regulation and/or bank and building society IT operations.
