Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications, ensuring consistency and quality in every meal
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new ideas and seasonal specials that excite diners and reflect current culinary trends
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to health regulations
- Support food presentation by garnishing dishes attractively and ensuring timely service for optimal guest satisfaction
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate meal preparation, manage kitchen workflow, and meet service deadlines
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness by cleaning work stations, utensils, equipment, and ensuring proper storage of ingredients
- Participate in inventory management by monitoring stock levels, rotating supplies, and notifying management of supply needs
Skills
- Proven experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable for understanding specialized meal requirements
- Strong background in food industry roles such as restaurant or catering environments with hands-on cooking experience
- Excellent knife skills combined with proficiency in food preparation techniques for diverse cuisines
- Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and food safety standards essential for maintaining high-quality standards
- Experience with fine dining service or catering operations that demand attention to detail and presentation excellence
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and teamwork spirit
- Familiarity with food handling regulations, kitchen safety protocols, and sanitation practices necessary for a safe working environment
