Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Aides to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and care to patients in a hospice setting, ensuring comfort and dignity during their end-of-life journey. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care, memory care, and hospice care, along with a strong understanding of medical terminology and patient observation techniques. Your contributions will make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities including bathing, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Monitor patient conditions by observing vital signs and reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by following infection control protocols.
- Document patient care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support patients with mobility assistance and transfers as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills related to dementia care and working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in senior care, hospice care, or related fields is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to patient care.
- Familiarity with memory care techniques and dementia care best practices.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Experience working in home community care settings is a plus.
- Ability to observe and report on patient conditions effectively.
- Compassionate demeanor with strong interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and families.
- Certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or similar credential is desirable but not mandatory.
