Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Aides to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support and care to patients in a hospice setting, ensuring comfort and dignity during their end-of-life journey. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care, memory care, and hospice care, along with a strong understanding of medical terminology and patient observation techniques. Your contributions will make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with daily living activities including bathing, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Monitor patient conditions by observing vital signs and reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by following infection control protocols.
  • Document patient care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Support patients with mobility assistance and transfers as needed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills related to dementia care and working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in senior care, hospice care, or related fields is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to patient care.
  • Familiarity with memory care techniques and dementia care best practices.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Experience working in home community care settings is a plus.
  • Ability to observe and report on patient conditions effectively.
  • Compassionate demeanor with strong interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and families.
  • Certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or similar credential is desirable but not mandatory.
