Duties

  • Prepare and assemble meals according to established recipes and menu plans, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes or modifications based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients.
  • Handle food with care, following strict food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure freshness.
  • Cook a variety of dishes with precision, utilizing knife skills and culinary techniques to achieve optimal presentation and flavor.
  • Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food, setting up buffet stations, and serving guests efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
  • Serve food to guests in a courteous manner, providing excellent customer service that enhances their dining experience.
  • Contribute to food preparation activities such as chopping, mixing, plating, and portioning ingredients for daily service.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy hours.
  • Adhere to all food handling regulations and safety standards consistently throughout your shift.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable.
  • Proven background in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant service with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Strong knowledge of menu planning, food handling procedures, and culinary techniques.
  • Experience in fine dining or the food industry that demonstrates attention to detail and professionalism.
  • Excellent knife skills along with the ability to prepare meals efficiently under time constraints.
  • Familiarity with catering services and serving large groups is a plus.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices is essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
