Job Description

The Senior Human Resources Manager role in supporting and executing the company's human capital strategy. This position ensures HR operations effectively reinforce business objectives while cultivating a safe, compliant, and high-performance workplace across our manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution operations. The successful candidate will partner closely with the CPO, executives, and department leaders while overseeing a broad range of HR responsibilities.

ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Planning

  • Partner with executive leadership to implement HR strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Lead initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, company culture, DEI, succession planning, and change management.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable advisor in organizational design and workforce planning.

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Serve as the senior point of contact for employee concerns, investigations, performance coaching, and corrective action.
  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations (CA Labor Code, Cal/OSHA, SB 553, etc.).
  • Develop, communicate, and maintain HR policies with consistency and transparency.
  • Lead internal audits and maintain essential compliance documents, including I-9s, OSHA logs, and workers' compensation records.

Talent Acquisition & Development

  • Oversee full-cycle recruitment for both salaried and hourly roles, including postings, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Lead leadership development, employee training, and career pathing programs.
  • Administer the performance management process and employee recognition initiatives.

Compensation, Benefits & HRIS Administration

  • Manage payroll, benefits administration, and leave-of-absence processes through ADP or other HRIS platforms.
  • Oversee the company's 401(k) plan, annual audits, and compliance filings (e.g., Form 5500).
  • Monitor market trends to maintain competitive and equitable compensation practices.

Safety & Workers' Compensation

  • Partner with safety leadership to promote a strong culture of safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage workers' compensation claims, return-to-work programs, and CAL-OSHA documentation.
  • Support incident prevention efforts and ensure timely maintenance of OSHA 300 logs.

Analytics, Reporting & HR Operations

  • Maintain data integrity across HR systems and prepare regular reports on key HR metrics.
  • Support HR budgeting processes including headcount planning, benefits cost analysis, and workforce trends.
  • Identify areas for improvement and recommend scalable enhancements to HR operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field perferred.
  • 8–10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, ideally in food manufacturing, distribution, or logistics.
  • Strong knowledge of California labor laws, wage and hour regulations, and safety requirements.
  • Experience supporting bilingual (English/Spanish) workforces and diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated success scaling HR operations in fast-paced, multi-site environments.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, ADP, and HRIS platforms.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110, $140,000.00 per year
