Night Auditor

Heritage Inn is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Night Auditor to join our Guest Services Team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working independently overnight, takes pride in accuracy, and provides warm, professional service to our guests.

Schedule

• Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Days: To be discussed during interview
• Status: Full Time

Responsibilities

The Night Auditor supports guest services while completing nightly accounting and audit tasks, including:

Guest Services

• Welcome and assist guests with late check-ins and early check-outs
• Handle guest questions, requests, and concerns with professionalism and care
• Answer phone calls, assist with reservations, and provide accurate hotel information
• Maintain a calm, safe, and secure environment overnight
• Monitor lobby activity and follow all property safety/security procedures

Night Audit Duties

• Complete nightly closing procedures and balance daily transactions
• Run audit reports to verify accuracy of charges, payments, and adjustments
• Reconcile shift reports and prepare nightly paperwork
• Prepare and distribute nightly/daily reports for management
• Identify, document, and report discrepancies promptly

General Operations

• Keep the guest services area and lobby neat, organized, and guest-ready
• Assist with light administrative or operational tasks as needed
• Share key overnight updates with the morning guest services team

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Prior hotel, night audit, or customer service experience preferred (training available for the right candidate)
• Comfortable working independently and making sound decisions overnight
• Strong attention to detail and basic math accuracy
• Reliable, punctual, and able to stay alert through overnight hours
• Calm and professional in handling guest issues
• Familiarity with hotel PMS systems is a plus (we'll train if needed)
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally
