Part-time Receptionist

Job Summary: We are seeking 2 reliable, friendly, organized, and compassionate part-time receptionists to join our team at Sonshine Preschool, a Christian preschool dedicated to nurturing the hearts and minds of young children. The receptionist will be the first point of contact for parents, staff, and visitors, providing excellent customer service while creating a welcoming, positive environment. The role can either be filled by one person who covers both shifts or two individuals, each covering one shift.

Work Schedule Options:

• AM Shift: 6:45am – 10:45am (4 hours)
• PM Shift: 2pm– 6pm (4 hours)

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and welcome parents, children, and visitors with a warm and professional attitude.
• Answer and direct phone calls in a courteous manner, taking messages when necessary.
• Provide general information to parents and visitors about school programs, policies, and schedules.
• Assist with the check-in/check-out process for students, ensuring safety and security protocols are followed.
• Handle administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and data entry.
• Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary materials.
• Assist with any other duties as needed, including supporting staff and parents with inquiries or concerns.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Be able to pass a background check.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with children, parents, and staff in a professional, friendly manner.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Basic computer skills
• A heart for service and a desire to work in an environment that upholds Christian values and teachings.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• A positive, team-oriented attitude, with a passion for supporting the spiritual and emotional growth of children in a Christian setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous receptionist or customer service experience.
• Experience in a school or early childhood setting.
• Knowledge of Christian values and the ability to foster a Christ-centered environment.
