Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Washington, D.C. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory across the entire logistics network. Your duties will include conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, managing stock levels, and implementing process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy. This position requires a keen analytical mind, exceptional organizational skills, and a strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics. You will play a key part in minimizing stockouts, reducing waste, and optimizing inventory flow. A commitment to safety is paramount, and you will ensure adherence to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE. Experience with inventory management software and a proactive approach to problem-solving are highly valued. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence operational efficiency and contribute to the success of our supply chain. While not primarily a physically demanding role, some lifting may be involved.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the WMS.
  • Monitor stock levels and identify potential shortages or overages.
  • Implement and improve inventory control procedures.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with warehouse operations and logistics teams.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
  • Train other staff on inventory control best practices.
  • Manage the return process and ensure accurate RTV (Return to Vendor) processing.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and the importance of PPE.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs on occasion.
