San Jose, California - We are looking for a skilled Material Handler to join our advanced logistics team. This role is essential for managing the flow of materials within our facility, ensuring efficient movement and organization of goods. You will be responsible for operating various types of material handling equipment, receiving and shipping materials, and maintaining accurate inventory records. A strong understanding of warehouse operations, excellent safety consciousness, and the ability to work efficiently are key. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Receive, inspect, and accurately document incoming materials.
- Transport materials to and from various points within the warehouse, including staging areas, storage racks, and shipping docks.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper securing of cargo.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and assist with cycle counting procedures.
- Organize and maintain designated storage areas for optimal efficiency.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, protocols, and the mandatory use of PPE.
- Perform routine checks on equipment, reporting any maintenance needs.
- Be proficient in lifting and moving items up to 60 lbs as part of daily duties.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse/logistics role.
- Certification and demonstrated proficiency in operating various forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents, pick lists, and inventory records.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks, including lifting and moving materials.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy.
- Awareness and consistent use of required PPE.
