Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team in . The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining accurate specimen documentation. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and excellent patient service skills to support diagnostic processes and contribute to quality patient care.
Duties
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection using aseptic techniques to ensure specimen integrity.
- Prepare and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing, adhering to established protocols.
- Obtain vital signs and assess patient condition prior to specimen collection.
- Maintain proper labeling, documentation, and transportation of specimens to the laboratory.
- Follow infection control standards and maintain a sterile environment during procedures.
- Provide compassionate patient care, explaining procedures clearly and addressing patient concerns.
- Assist with specimen processing, including centrifugation and storage as needed.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and clinical laboratory regulations.
- Maintain equipment and supplies related to phlebotomy procedures.
Skills
- Proficiency in laboratory procedures, techniques, and specimen collection/processing.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience with venipuncture, blood sampling, and vital signs measurement.
- Previous clinical or hospital laboratory experience preferred.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to provide care in a compassionate manner.
- Familiarity with laboratory techniques and hospital protocols related to phlebotomy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining accuracy.
