HR Specialist – Full Time

Matlock's Used Parts is seeking a hands-on HR Specialist to support daily human resources functions in a fast-paced, blue-collar work environment. This role requires someone who is approachable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working directly with employees and supervisors to keep HR processes running smoothly and maintain a positive workplace culture.
What You'll Do
- Support full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried roles.
- Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding.
- Serve as a trusted resource for employee questions, concerns, and workplace issues.
- Assist managers with performance and conduct matters, ensuring consistency and fairness.
- Help oversee weekly payroll processing with a third-party provider; review hours, wages, and deductions for accuracy.
- Manage benefits enrollment and open enrollment; assist with employee education on benefit plans.
- Help develop and coordinate training initiatives for employees and supervisors.
- Support managers with safety, compliance, and skill-development training.
- Ensure compliance with federal/state labor laws, OSHA requirements, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate HR files, records, and documentation.
- Assist with implementing or updating HR policies and communicating changes clearly.
- Support safety initiatives, employee recognition programs, and company culture activities.
- Perform additional HR-related tasks as needed.
What We're Looking For
- 3–5+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing, service, or blue-collar environment.
- Strong working knowledge of payroll and benefits administration; prior experience with a third-party payroll provider is a plus.
- Experience helping create or manage training programs.
- Solid understanding of employment law, compliance, and OSHA basics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust at all levels.
- Highly organized, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred, but not required with equivalent experience.

Pay: $ $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
