Assistant Store Manager 2026 Description PAY RATE LEVEL: Three (3) $ $24.00 per hour REPORTS TO: Store Operations Manager SUPPORTS: All Departments Leadership Responsibilities

? Act as a model for all employees, abiding by all co-op policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Manual and other guidelines.
? Demonstrate cooperation and professionalism, ensuring the integrity of Feather River Food Co-op's values, principles, and standards in decision making and interactions with others.
? Ensure professional and friendly service is provided by Co-op employees.
? Actively seek out and create educational and talent development opportunities to increase the skills and knowledge of all store employees.
? Actively participate in the Feather River Food Co-op's management team and work together to achieve team goals and provide support to the General Manager.
? Consistently attend the department and all staff meetings.
? Follow procedures in the case of emergencies (such as fire, power outages, and evacuations), injuries and workplace violence, and non-emergency situations such as shoplifting and disruptive behavior.
? Comply with the requirements of Feather River Food Co-op's Illness & Injury Prevention Program and address employee concerns and questions related to the IIPP.
? Abide by dress code and all Co-op policies and procedures as specified in the Feather River Food Co-op's Employee Handbook.
Customer Service Responsibilities
? Provide exceptional customer service as identified in Feather River Food Co-op Service Standards
? Take the initiative to improve knowledge of Feather River Food Co-ops product line and demonstrate the ability to answer or research customer questions.
? Promptly respond to customer inquiries, comments, and complaints in a professional manner, with General Manager assistance when needed.
? Act as the manager on duty when assigned and promptly address issues affecting product quality, service or equipment malfunctions.
? Understand the elements of Co-op membership sufficiently to educate customers and process membership transactions.
? Understand and follow the procedures for processing special orders.
? Help customers with special orders in a prompt, friendly manner. Purchasing, Stocking and Receiving
? Purchase items following product selection guidelines in accordance with department goals.
? Set stocking priorities for staff.
? Stock items as needed.
? Receive orders or ensure proper receiving by other staff in accordance with established procedures. Keep accurate receiving records.
? Accurately and promptly process vendor invoices, ensure that vendor credits are received for damaged products.
? Process special orders and ensure accurate, timely POS sales to business charge accounts.
? Ensure stock levels are maintained with limited out-of-stocks, and backstock is kept at acceptable levels.
? Ensure pricing systems are clear and followed so pricing is accurate; be alert to incorrect pricing.
? Ensure daily tasks are assigned and needed tools and supplies are on hand to create high quality, productive and efficient systems and enhance individual job performance.
Department Maintenance
? Maintain shelves and displays, including cross-merchandise locations, are fully stocked, rotated, fresh, with accurate, up-to-date shelf tags and other signs.
? Ensure department equipment is maintained and properly serviced. Advise the General Manager of equipment repair and replacement needs.
? Ensure that refrigeration equipment temperatures are documented regularly with properly calibrated, working thermometers.
? Ensure correct pricing and handling of special orders.
? Communicate ordering times, deadlines, and changes in delivery times to the delivery team.
? Maintain well organized backstock to minimize loss and out-of-stocks on the retail floor.
? Ensure all unsellable items are properly disposed of, and keep accurate shrinkage records.
? Assist in resets, ensure accurate physical inventory counts, and other projects as assigned by the Grocery Manager. Merchandising and Promotion
? Demonstrate working knowledge of category management and apply principles to meet departmental goals.
? Collaborate with the Grocery Manager to set department goals and develop structure in compliance with the General Manager's overall store vision.
? Maintain knowledge of new products and trends and share information with staff and customers.
? Coordinate the introduction of new products with the Systems Manager and provide new product and product change information.
? Contribute to the website, Facebook page, and other available promotional outlets upon request.
? Ensure accurate, up-to-date, uniform department signs, price tags and labeling.
? Coordinate promotional orders and other sale specials.
? Coordinate product demos and product displays. Fiscal Management Practices
