About
Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for a Patient Access Representative to join our Registration team on a Per-Diem basis.
This position is responsible for accurately capturing and maintaining patient diagnosis, procedures, demographics, employment, emergency contact, guarantor, and insurance information for patients admitted for inpatient and outpatient services at Stoughton Hospital. This position establishes hospital billing accounts and accurately charges for services that are rendered. This position interacts with many internal and external customers and is responsible for creating a positive first impression of Stoughton Hospital. This position is also responsible for routing communications throughout the Hospital and Dean Clinics and assisting with the traffic flow in visitor and patient reception areas.
Essential Functions:
- Collects patient information for accurate billing of patient services
- Prioritizes appropriate registration duties that impact the billing process
- Communicates effectively with other departments of the hospital to perform daily functions
- Receptionist duties that include greeting and providing information to patients and visitors
- Monitors hospital emergency panels and initiates appropriate procedures for proper action
- Good telephone skills
- Good time management skills
Position Requirements:
- Required: High School Graduate or Equivalent
- Preferred: Post-secondary clerical coursework
- Required: Previous clerical experience
- Preferred: Clerical experience in a medical setting and previous Registrar/Switchboard experience.
- Computer Competency: Basic Computer Skills are expected for this position
- Microsoft Office Suite Skills: Intermediate Skills- Able to perform fairly detailed formatting, create Word and Excel files, write formulas, and prepare applicable charts for reports
Work Shift:
- Per-Diem, .01 FTE
- As needed
- Minimum of 2 shifts per month
