Cosmos Technologies, Inc. is seeking a skilled Construction Inspector to oversee critical civil land development projects in the Pittsburgh and/or Harrisburg regions. Your Role & Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily on-site inspections of construction activities, ensuring all work complies with project plans, specifications, and state/local building codes.
- Enforce site safety regulations to maintain a secure working environment for all personnel.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for quality assurance, identifying and documenting any deficiencies or discrepancies.
- Prepare detailed daily inspection reports, including comprehensive photo documentation, to create a clear and defensible project record.
- Collaborate with Construction Managers and contractors to resolve issues efficiently, ensuring project quality is never compromised.
- Monitor project progress against schedules and assist in identifying potential delays or budget impacts.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in construction inspection, preferably within civil construction or land development projects.
- Active Certifications are required. Candidates should possess one or more of the following (or equivalent):
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician
- PennDOT Concrete Technician
- NECEPT/PennDOT Asphalt Field Technician
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and liaising with project stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office for daily reporting.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various project sites.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Possesses a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Is highly detail-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Works effectively both independently on-site and as a collaborative member of the project team.
- Proficiency in using relevant computer software and tools, including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
- Demonstrates a professional and firm approach when communicating with contractors about quality and safety compliance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
