Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic After School Teacher (K-2) to join our team. This role is essential in providing a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for students. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and possess strong skills in classroom management and behavior management. This position involves assisting with educational activities, promoting childhood development, and fostering a positive learning atmosphere.

Duties

  • Supervise and engage with students during various activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Implement classroom management strategies to maintain an orderly environment conducive to learning.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of educational programs, including tutoring sessions, sports activities, and arts & crafts.
  • Provide support for special education needs, adapting activities to meet individual student requirements.
  • Utilize first aid skills as needed to ensure the health and safety of all participants.
  • Foster positive relationships with students through effective communication and encouragement.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive program that supports the overall development of each child.
  • Participate in training sessions related to early childhood education, behavior management, and Christian counseling as applicable.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, or tutoring environments is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices.
  • Skills in classroom management and behavior management are essential for maintaining a productive learning environment.
  • First aid certification is a plus; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
  • Background in special education or experience supporting diverse learning needs is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with sports coaching, theater, or other extracurricular activities is beneficial but not required.
