Summary

We are seeking a Full-Stack Engineer with an emphasis on DevSecOps and maintenance development. This role is responsible for maintaining existing applications including the automated cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate will be adept at writing clean, production-ready code, integrating DevOps and security best practices, and operating within a modern AWS-based environment. This position reports through engineering and is a member of a small, dedicated team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintain full-stack applications using modern frameworks Node, Nuxt, Pulumi, GraphQL, Tailwind, Sequelize and Mysql with a focus on extending existing applications and services.
  • Manage and automate AWS infrastructure including services like, but not limited to, IAM, Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, S3, CloudFront, GuardDuty, Lambda and EventBridge.
  • Implement secure APIs and backend services with authentication and authorization layers.
  • Upgrade and maintain existing frameworks and components.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize Github CI/CD pipelines for secure and efficient deployments.
  • Integrate security practices such as code scanning, container scanning, and secrets management.
  • Participate in incident response, post-mortem reviews, and compliance tasks (SOC 2, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Support a variety of maintenance activities from forms infrastructure and execution to patching existing features and functionality across the platform.
  • Document infrastructure, processes, and system configurations as part of compliance efforts.
  • Participate in daily agile standups and sprint planning for engineering initiatives.

Additional Skillsets

  • Proficient in JavaScript frameworks and backend development tools.
  • Proficient in AWS services.
  • Proficient in security tools such as Burp or AWS Inspector.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • 2–4+ years of experience in full-stack software development with DevOps/SecOps exposure.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Github).
  • Familiarity with containerization (AWS ECR and Docker) and IaC tools (Pulumi).
  • Experience implementing secure development practices and working within compliance frameworks.

Education and/or Experience

  • S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in secure application development and infrastructure management.
  • Experience in Insurance and/or Financial Products & Services a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect are a plus.
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are a plus.

Typical Day

You will report to the VP of Engineering and work closely with other developers and infrastructure engineers. We embrace AI Agents as a key support of the professional development process for mature engineering as you take ownership of application development and AWS infrastructure, ensure CI/CD practices are automated and secure, and integrate DevSecOps principles across projects. You will participate in agile planning, development tasks and estimation driven through JIRA, daily standups, and work collaboratively with the broader engineering team to ensure production stability and security compliance. You will have to implement a regular review of security agents and vulnerability monitoring and develop upgrade pathways to assure the software stack is current and engineer solutions to address deficiencies. This includes the code base and proprietary forms maintenance and management.

Work Environment

This position may be remote, hybrid or in office in Louisville, Kentucky. Core working hours are between 8:30 and 5:30 daily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
