Overview:
The PCB-A/PCB Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and scaling all manufacturing processes related to thermal PCB production, and PCB assembly (SMT, THT, and final assembly). This role drives efficiency, quality, and throughput while ensuring robust process controls for LED modules, drivers, and advanced thermal PCB products for Industrial, Automotive, Defense and Aerospace Markets
Key Responsibilities:
Lead process development, optimization, and documentation for SMT, reflow, wave soldering, conformal coating, and final assembly.
Define manufacturing parameters, create detailed process flows, and establish standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Conduct DFM/DFT reviews and guide both internal engineering and customers to ensure manufacturability and cost effectiveness.
Analyze yield trends, scrap data, and defect patterns to implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement.
Develop process capability plans (CPK, SPC) and perform DOE for new materials, line configurations, and product introductions.
Evaluate and implement new equipment, tooling, materials, and automation technologies to enhance throughput and quality.
Oversee thermal profiling, stencil design, panelization optimization, and assembly fixturing.
Collaborate closely with Quality to maintain compliance and support certifications including ISO 9001, IATF16949, AS9100, and ISO 13485.
Provide technical training and support to operators, technicians, and cross-functional production teams.
Support NPI builds, process validation, and pilot production readiness.
Requirements:
5+ years of manufacturing process engineering experience in EMS, PCB, PCB-A or electronics manufacturing.
Deep knowledge of SMT line setup, reflow profiling, stencil design, PCB fabrication processes, stack-ups, thermal PCB materials, heavy copper boards, and PCB assembly.
Strong experience with DFM, DFA, PFMEA, DOE, SPC, and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
Ability to analyze production data, identify root causes, and drive measurable improvements.
Familiarity with quality and manufacturing standards: IPC-A-610, IPC-6012, ISO 9001, and advanced industry certifications.
Excellent technical communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
AS/BS degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering preferred.
Pay: $ $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
