Manifest Independence is a provider organization offering practical, in-home, and community-based support to adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD) in the Portland Metro area. Our approach centers around autonomy, consent, and collaboration. We work with our customers—not on or for them—to support the independent lives they define for themselves.

The Role

We're looking for 2–3 experienced Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support a customer in Milwaukie. This work is steady, relationship-based, and hands-on. You'll be providing in-home and community support during set weekly shifts, with opportunities to pick up additional hours when needed.

Prior job coaching experience is helpful but not required. What matters most is consistency, professionalism, respect for autonomy, and comfort working with adults with I/DD in a consent-based environment.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting daily routines like organizing, errands, planning, or appointments
• Helping the customer connect with community resources and activities
• Providing structured, consent-based support while honoring independence
• Implementing practical skill-building in the home and the community
• Maintaining strong, respectful, and collaborative communication with the admin team
• Working within an existing support plan and helping the customer work toward personal goals

Schedule & Hours

This position is part-time, with a 16-hour weekly baseline.

Shifts available:

• Monday: 10am–6pm (driving required)
• Tuesday: 10am–6pm
• Wednesday: 10am–6pm
• Saturday: 10am–6pm

We're looking for DSPs who can consistently cover 1–2 of these days each week, with the option to pick up additional hours when covering call-outs, sick days, or schedule changes.

Location: Milwaukie, ORDriving: Not required for most shifts, but must be able to drive on Mondays.

Pay & Perks

• $20.00/hour (with annual 5% raises)

What You'll Need

• Experience supporting adults with I/DD
• A reliable smartphone (Android 9+ or iOS 15.4+)
• Ability to pass a background check
• Driving capability for Monday shifts (preferred but not required for Tues/Wed/Sat)

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 per week
