Position Overview

We're looking for a Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) to support welding operations and ensure all work meets applicable codes and customer requirements. This role is hands-on and shop-based. You'll participate in pre-weld meetings, review procedures, observe fit-ups and welds, and complete post-weld inspections. The position reports to the Production Manager and Quality Manager (QCI).

What You'll Do

• Attend all pre-weld meetings and procedural reviews
• Review drawings, manufacturing instructions, hold points, and customer specifications
• Verify Welding Procedure Specifications, Procedure Qualification Records, and Welder Performance Qualifications
• Observe fit-up, welding processes, and material handling for code compliance (AWS D1.1, etc.)
• Perform visual and post-weld inspections
• Document and provide clear inspection reports
• Identify and report any non-conformances to the QCI
• Support maintenance of welder qualifications and procedures
• Help uphold quality standards and safe shop practices

What We're Looking For

• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) required
• Experience in steel fabrication or a related industry
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Familiarity with steel materials, forms, and specifications
• Strong understanding of shop practices, fit-up, and welding processes
• Ability to keep clean, accurate inspection records
• Solid understanding of customer expectations and production priorities
• Commitment to safety and adherence to all company protocols

Schedule and Work Environment

• Typical hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (40 hours/week).
• Additional hours may be required to meet project deadlines.
• On-site position at Martelli's Ivyland, PA facility.
