About the Role:
The Accounting Manager will lead daily accounting operations for our growing company. This includes managing the close process, supervising AP/AR, supporting system transitions, and eventually overseeing accounting functions at a sister company .
This position reports to the Controller, and is ideal for someone who is both strategic and hands-on, with a builder mindset and a heart for developing people and process.
Key Responsibilities:
* Own the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
* Supervise and develop accounting staff (initially indirect, eventually direct
* Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, job cost accounting, and payroll support
* Support and help lead the implementation of a new ERP/accounting system
* Ensure GAAP compliance and strong internal controls
* Collaborate with other departments on cross-functional projects
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or MBA strongly preferred)
* 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
* Industry experience in construction, manufacturing, or inventory-based environments
* Experience as a Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager
* Strong, Advanced Excel skills
* ERP implementation experience (NetSuite or similar) preferred
* Familiarity with job costing, inventory, and operational accounting workflows
* Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or any other data visualization and Business intelligence tools
* Able to lead with humility, coach others, and drive accountability
