Duties
- Greet guests warmly and guide them to their tables, ensuring a smooth and welcoming start to their dining experience.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems like Toast, Aloha POS or Micros POS, and communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery.
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
- Upsell menu items by recommending specials or popular dishes to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales.
- Manage cash handling and cashiering responsibilities accurately, including processing payments via POS systems such as OpenTable or other platforms.
- Maintain knowledge of menu offerings, including ingredients and dietary options, to assist guests with questions or special requests.
- Support food safety and sanitation standards by adhering to proper food handling procedures and sanitation practices.
- Assist with bussing tables, cleaning work areas, and resetting tables quickly during busy hours to keep the restaurant running smoothly.
- Foster positive guest relations through attentive service, friendly communication, and resolving any concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with team members across front-of-house and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service delivery in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality is highly desirable; experience with fine dining or nightclub settings is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast, Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable enhances efficiency but is not mandatory—training will be provided.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with guests and team members from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to manage multiple tables simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing, and order calculations.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Experience in upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities without being pushy.
- Culinary or kitchen experience can be beneficial but is not required; a willingness to learn about menu items is essential.
