Heavy Equipment Operator

Three Rivers Recycling is seeking to hire an Equipment Operator/Shear Operator. Responsible for safe machine operation and upkeep while processing metals. He/she will also assist other operators with any of their daily duties including area housekeeping, maintenance work, and material staging.

We are a metal recycling scrap yard located on Duss Avenue in Baden PA.

Duties:

Operate and maintain various types of heavy equipment including skid steers, forklifts, excavator with a shear attachment. Minor labor duties involved.

Shear Duties:

• Cut material to size per requirements
• Sort material to finished goods area.
• Perform equipment inspections before and after use to ensure proper functionality.
• Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrates good listening skills.
• General cleaning of the working area.
• Operator will perform equipment maintenance duties, which will include changing hoses and maintaining blade specs.
• Assist with basic mechanical troubleshooting as needed
• Responsible for any other tasks that may arise.
• Assist with maintaining an organized warehouse and yard by assisting with moving materials to scales, finished goods areas, or general reorganizing.

REQUIREMENTS

• One or more years minimum experience in heavy equipment operation
• Scrapyard or scrapping experience is a major plus.
• Must be able to read tape measure, have knowledge of material types, and meet deadlines for material processing.
• Mechanical aptitude for basic troubleshooting and maintenance tasks
• Must pass a drug screen and background check for employment.
• Valid driver's license required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Lift, carry, push and or pull 1 – 50 lbs. frequently.
• Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, crawl, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently.
• Sit, stand and walk for 1 – 8 hours per day.
• Work in an occasional fast-paced environment wearing appropriate hearing protection, vision protection, steel-toed shoes and other appropriate protective clothing as needed. *

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED.

Job Type: Full-time

8AM to 4PM Monday through Friday

Occasional Saturdays, as needed. 8Am to 1PM.
