About the role:

  • This job is about supporting radiologists by working on medical images.

  • The scans are already taken by technologists.

  • Your job is to work on those images on a computer—creating 3D images, taking measurements, and preparing images that doctors use for diagnosis and research.

  • If you work remotely, you will not see patients. You will only work on image processing, analysis, and research support from home.

  • If you work hybrid, you may sometimes be on-site to help with patients, but a large part of the role is still image processing and research work.

  • You are not diagnosing patients, and you are not only scanning patients all day.

  • Because this is still a clinical imaging role, you must have an active ARRT or ARMRIT license

Job Summary:

  • The Department of Radiology in the School of Medicine (SOM) is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to work under the moderate supervision of a radiologist or physician to provide diagnostic information that assists in diagnoses and therapies.

  • Enhance patient care and research goals by assisting the radiologist in the diagnostic imaging environment. Provide support for the implementation and execution of research studies.

  • We are seeking a highly motivated individual who can problem-solve and work independently.

Must Have:

  • ARRT, or ARMRIT
    license required

Duties Include:

  • Work closely with the physician on complex medical imaging procedures, 3D reformations, and post-processing procedures.

  • Participate in the development, implementation, and execution of multiple research studies involving medical imaging and diagnostics.

  • Operate imaging equipment and other hardware, and ensure proper functioning; troubleshoot equipment as needed.

  • Assist in imaging data systems to obtain images for use in the research of pathologies and the development of clinical procedures.

  • Generate images for use in research studies and clinical diagnoses; assist in image analysis and interpretation.

  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures; explain procedures and ensure patient comfort and safety.

  • Maintain records of imaging procedures and research studies; ensure compliance with institutional and federal regulations.

  • Provide technical and operational assistance to researchers, technologists, and physicians.

  • Assist in the development and handling of 3D reformations and post-processing images.

  • Collect quantitative measurements; ensure accuracy and reliability of data.

  • Maintain necessary paperwork and databases for scheduling and billing purposes.

  • Provide support by assisting with the preparation of interesting cases for presentation and the development of standard operating procedures, quality assurance programs, and departmental safety policies and procedures.

Benefits:

  • The Company offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, short-term disability insurance, paid parking/public transportation, (paid time, paid sick and safe time, hours of paid vacation time, weeks of paid parental leave, paid holidays annually - AS Applicable).
