About
The Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and ongoing administration of the firm's systems and infrastructure. In addition to managing assigned systems and applications, this role may also include participation in projects and various administrative tasks as needed.
Success in this role requires a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset, strong communication skills, and the ability to provide clear technical guidance while delivering excellent customer service. You should also be familiar with document management and legal management systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties:
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, network devices, and other critical infrastructure components (Windows/Linux environments).
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
- Apply OS and security patches and upgrade systems proactively.
- Application lifecycle management.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
- Maintain documentation related to system configurations, procedures, and asset management.
- Work closely with the IT support team to escalate and resolve technical issues.
- Participate in system audits, IT projects, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Enforce security best practices and assist with compliance initiatives.
- Set up and configure user accounts, email, and access permissions, collaborating with the IT helpdesk to resolve user issues promptly.
Strategy & Planning:
- Design, implement, document, and support systems and infrastructure.
- Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning to meet organizational needs.
Security & Backup:
- Conduct daily traffic analysis, identify and characterize incidents, generate incident reports, and investigate suspicious network activity.
- Install, monitor, and direct proactive and reactive computer network defense measures to ensure the availability, integrity, confidentiality, and reliability of systems.
- Monitor backups and periodically test backup procedures.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Familiarity with Linux server environments is a plus.
- Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Basic understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls).
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.
- Ability to solve complex problems.
- Knowledge of various regulatory, security, and privacy standards. (HIPAA/HITECH, ISO

Requirements
Skills and Minimum Qualifications
Education & Certifications:
- Associate's degree in computer science or information technology or 2+ years of work experience in systems administration or related IT field.
- Two or more years of combined experience in IT support, help desk, and systems administration.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, Network+, Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Admin, or similar). (Preferred)

Working Conditions:
The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (typical office or
administrative work).
Physical Requirements:
