Position Summary:
The Field Technician is essential in supporting our clients by handling break/fix support tickets and calls, onsite desktop & server support, & remote project work. This role involves assisting on larger projects as needed, primarily focusing on ensuring the reliability and smooth operation of our clients' desktop environments. The Field Technician helps maintain client satisfaction through prompt and effective resolution of issues.

Objectives:
· Provide support and troubleshooting for break/fix issues, desktop/server support, and remote work queries.
· View, manage and respond to new helpdesk tickets and tasks assigned to you.
· Configuration/setup of IT hardware and software.
· Participate in larger IT projects, providing support and working with senior technical staff.
· Ensure effective communication with clients and team members to understand their issues and provide timely solutions.
· Maintain documentation of client issues and resolutions for support continuity.
· Effectively utilize and update articles in our documentation system.
· Conduct regular maintenance and updates to ensure the stability and security of customer environments.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Competencies:
· Strong familiarity with desktop operating systems such as Windows 10/11
· Familiarity with Office 365, Google Workspace and other common cloud services, such as Dropbox, etc.
· Hands-on experience with IT hardware including servers, NAS devices, firewalls, switches, printers, and related infrastructure components.
· Experience with troubleshooting and resolving hardware and software issues.
· Knowledge of network fundamentals, including DHCP, IP addressing, and basic networking.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
· Good communication skills and ability to work with clients who may be under stress or need processes explained to them over the phone.
· Must maintain a valid driver's license, and clean driving record.
· Must maintain a secure work from home environment including camera for zoom.

Education & Experience
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in desktop support or related IT support roles.
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Some college preferred
Physical Requirements
· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs of equipment such as servers, UPS units, and monitors.
· Ability to bend, kneel, crawl, and crouch in tight or awkward spaces (e.g., under desks, server racks, or behind equipment).
· Comfortable working in environments such as server rooms, wiring closets, or client office spaces, which may have varying temperatures or noise levels.
Benefits:
· Full medical coverage, with a $1,500 deductible split 50/50 between Dataspindle and the employee. The current employee cost is approximately $340/month
· 15 days of PTO per year (up to 5 unused days can be carried over).
