Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist with OccuKids, you will provide therapy services to children in their home or natural settings. Your role will be crucial in helping children thrive and improve their quality of life.

Responsibilities:
1. Demonstrate Professional conduct and ethics according to company policy and procedure.

  1. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and all Company operations.

  2. Provide occupational therapy services to patients as prescribed by a physician in compliance with company policies and procedures and federal and state regulations.

  3. Assist the physician in assessing patient's level of function and ability to perform daily activities.

  4. Develop and revise a plan of care, in consultation with the physician and other care-team members, which will enable patient to achieve realistic goals of mobility.

  5. Implement therapeutic activities to address patients' developmental goals.

  6. Evaluate equipment/device needs to increase/maintain child/patient's functional level.

  7. Provide family education and support to ensure effective carryover of therapeutic interventions.

  8. Report to the physician and designated company representative patient's reaction to treatment and any changes in patient's condition.

  9. Evaluate the effectiveness and outcomes of care.

  10. Instruct patient and family/care giver in care and use of therapy devices.

  11. Instruct patient, patient's family/caregiver, and health team on patient's total therapy program.

  12. Record occupational therapy treatment provided and observations regarding patient activities, condition in the clinical record and maintain accurate progress notes of and submit timely documentation.

  13. Must be physically and mentally capable of routinely and consistently providing one hour treatment sessions to include one-on-one therapist to childcare along with caregiver/family education and summary as appropriate.

  14. Maintain effective communication and working relationships with patients, patients' families, staff, representatives of other departments and community agencies.

  15. Perform other job duties and responsibilities as assigned by the clinical supervisor.

Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following experience and skills:
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques related to occupational therapy
- Experience working with pediatric patients is preferred

  • BabyNet experience preferred
  • Proficient in medical terminology used in occupational therapy practice
  • Knowledge of occupational health principles and practices

Qualifications:
1. A Graduate of Occupational Therapy Curriculum as stated in Medicare Conditions of Participation or a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy.

  1. Licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the respective state.

  2. Minimum of one (1) years' experience of home health care preferred.

  3. Background check acceptable by company.

  4. Current C.P.R. Certification.

  5. Valid driver's license and proof of automobile liability insurance.

  6. Able to work autonomously with minimum supervision.

  7. Demonstrated organizational skills and detail oriented.

  8. Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  9. Demonstrated computer skills.

  10. Demonstrated time management skills.

  11. Demonstrated interpersonal skills.

  12. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

  13. Able to work as a team member.
