Human Resources Specialist (or Coordinator)

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Human Resources Specialist to support day-to-day HR operations and drive consistency across talent, training, compliance, and reporting functions. This role supports core HR activities including talent acquisition, onboarding, training and development, employee relations, benefits administration, HRIS management, and workforce reporting.

The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, a working knowledge of employment law, and hands-on experience with HR systems, training coordination, and data-driven reporting. This position plays a critical role in maintaining compliance, supporting leadership decision-making, and fostering employee development within a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Support recruitment efforts including candidate sourcing, screening coordination, and ATS management (e.g., iCIMS, Taleo, Workday).
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding, orientation sessions, and required compliance training.
  • Assist with employer branding and recruitment campaigns; social media support is a plus.

Training & Development

  • Coordinate employee training programs including onboarding training, safety training, compliance training, and ongoing professional development.
  • Track and document training completion, certifications, and continuing education requirements.
  • Support the development and maintenance of training materials, schedules, and attendance records.
  • Assist leadership with rollout and tracking of new policies, procedures, and company-wide training initiatives.

HR Operations & HRIS Management

  • Maintain accurate employee records, job data, and status changes within HRIS platforms (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, PeopleSoft, UltiPro, Oracle HCM).
  • Ensure data integrity across HR, payroll, and benefits systems.
  • Maintain documentation related to employment contracts, policies, corrective actions, and personnel files.

Reports Management & Analytics

  • Prepare, maintain, and distribute HR reports related to headcount, turnover, training compliance, benefits enrollment, and workforce metrics.
  • Support audits, internal reviews, and leadership reporting with accurate and timely HR data.
  • Track key HR KPIs and assist with workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational reporting.
  • Ensure reporting compliance with federal, state, and company requirements.

Benefits, Payroll & Compliance

  • Assist with benefits administration including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries.
  • Support compliance with FMLA, Workers' Compensation, OSHA, and other federal and state labor regulations.
  • Coordinate with payroll systems and vendors (e.g., Workday, Paychex, ADP) to ensure accurate employee data and reporting.

Employee Relations & Performance Management

  • Support employee relations initiatives including communication, documentation, and conflict resolution support.
  • Assist with performance management cycles, evaluations, and performance tracking.
  • Promote a positive workplace culture aligned with company values and policies.

Strategic HR Support

  • Assist with organizational design initiatives, workforce planning, and change management efforts.
  • Contribute to talent management, succession planning, and continuous HR process improvements.
  • Support HR leadership with special projects and cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in human resources, HR coordination, or HR operations roles.
  • Experience managing training programs, compliance tracking, and HR reporting.
  • Familiarity with HR systems and tools such as Lever, Paychex, Dayforce, Kronos, UltiPro, ADP, Paylocity, or similar platforms.
  • Working knowledge of employment law (FMLA, OSHA), benefits administration, payroll processes, and HRIS platforms.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated discretion handling confidential information.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • HR certifications (SHRM-CP, PHR, HRCI) are a plus.

Pay: $ $30.86 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
