JOB SUMMARY: As a Beverage Bartender, you will provide friendly and excellent service to every guest by professionally preparing and dispensing alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to guests and beverage cocktail servers following standard recipes in a timely manner. You will also maintain the integrity of the bar including the responsibility of all monetary transactions.
QUALIFICATIONS: Native American preference. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Must possess or be capable of obtaining a Bartender's License, Certification in T.I.P.S. Class (Training in Intervention Procedures for Servers of Alcohol) and Responsible Beverage Servers Certificate. Previous bartending experience is desirable. Must be 18 years of age or older. Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: Must have the ability to bend, stoop, stand, and reach for an eight (8) hour shift or more. Must have good communication skills and be friendly and congenial with guests and co-workers. Must possess good math skills and be neatly groomed. Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds for stocking bars and changing soda. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, reach with hands and arms and to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. If glasses/contacts are needed, they must be worn for the entire shift. Must be able to tolerate a high noise level and be willing to tolerate secondhand smoke in a smoke-filled environment. .
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Have the ability to prepare a wide variety of mixed and blended drinks as well as non-alcoholic drinks and service guests in a timely and responsible manner, following established recipes and procedures. Prepare beverage cocktail server drinks in a timely manner. To maintain the essential supplies, garnishes and stock in the bar to facilitate expedient service. Participate as a team player with all co-workers to ensure efficient operational standards. Wash glassware and utensils after each use. Prepare checks, process payments, handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to guests and operate cash register. Greet guests and serve food and drinks to guests seated at the bar. Check identification of guests to make sure they meet age requirements for purchase of alcohol. Maintain a clean and neat bar station on a continual basis. Remain calm and friendly under pressure. Respond quickly to requests from guests, supervisors or management in a timely manner. To observe and communicate to supervisor any problematic situations and take appropriate steps to maintain an orderly atmosphere. Responsible for receiving, issuing, and keeping necessary records of liquor storeroom and supplies. Maintain security of equipment keys and other supplies each day. Provide a professional image at all times through personal appearance.
Must be able to meet the attendance guidelines of the position, adhere to and enforce all departmental and company policies, and attend all mandatory training. Must comply with and enforce all safety policies and rules.
