Shift: M-F/2PM-1030PM/Weekend and Holiday Rotation

The SPD Instrument Technician is responsible for the effective and efficient cleaning, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instrument sets in support of the operating room, labor and delivery, and special procedure areas.

Education:

  • High School graduate or equivalent

License/Certifications:

  • Associate is required to obtain certification within 1 ½ years of hire date. Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT)

Experience:

  • Previous sterilization/hospital experience strongly preferred.

  • After 2 years combination of classroom education and job experience the Technician must obtain fluency in hospital terminology, basic knowledge of descriptive anatomy and physiology, a basic understanding of microbiology; the prevention and control of infection; and all facets of disinfection.

Other:

  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
