About
The successful Design Engineer will be responsible for producing detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using SolidWorks, managing BOMs, and supporting engineering and manufacturing teams with the design of bespoke mechanical systems and assemblies.
You’ll have experience within a steel fabrication or mechanical engineering environment, with strong SolidWorks skills and the ability to work hands‑on with production and project teams.
Package
£40,000 depending on experience
Based in Broughton, Northamptonshire
Key Responsibilities
Produce detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings using SolidWorks
Create and manage BOMs within the company’s ERP system
Support engineering, sales, and production teams with design input
Ensure drawing quality, version control, and document accuracy
Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs are feasible and cost‑effective
Requirements
Experience as a Design Engineer / Draughtsperson / CAD Engineer or similar
Background in steel fabrications or mechanical manufacturing
Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
HNC or equivalent in Mechanical_adv_ or Manufacturing Engineering
Must be commutable to Broughton, Northamptonshire
