What you will be doing As the Analytics Engineer, you will architect the data flow, ensuring every piece of client data is collected, transformed, and reported with precision and compliance. You will deliver the technical foundations for all web analytics and business intelligence work.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and manage Google Tag Manager setups across multiple high‑value client websites to support accurate data collection.
Configure and maintain core analytics platforms such as Google Analytics 4, and potentially others like Piwik Pro or Adobe Analytics.
Ensure data governance and compliance by managing consent tracking, cookie capture, and adherence to data privacy best practices (e.g., GDPR) using tools such as One Trust or Cookiebot.
Build dashboards and reports in Looker Studio, Power BI, or Tableau, delivering key insights on web traffic and performance.
Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines (e.g., using BigQuery) to ensure reliable data flow for reporting.
Manage data warehousing, including defining and optimising data schemas and staging tables.
Collaborate with analysts to prepare clean, high‑quality datasets that translate user behaviour and marketing performance into insight‑rich dashboards.
Debug and troubleshoot tracking issues and liaise with development teams to resolve data collection problems.
Key Experience & Expertise
Deep hands‑on experience with Google Tag Manager and administering platforms such as Google Analytics 4.
Familiarity with BI tools such as Looker Studio, Power BI, or Tableau.
Clear understanding of data privacy and experience managing cookie‑consent platforms.
Strong SQL skills essential for working with and optimising data warehouses.
Proven experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using tools like dbt, Fivetran, or Airbyte.
Experience with BigQuery or other major cloud‑based data warehouses.
An adaptable, organised, and detail‑oriented mindset capable of managing multiple projects and complex schemas.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts into clear requirements and insights for technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
