Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our sophisticated logistics operations in Chicago, Illinois. This critical role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of our warehouse inventory. The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for implementing and managing inventory control procedures, conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and maintaining optimal stock levels. You will work closely with warehouse staff, purchasing, and sales departments to resolve inventory issues and improve processes. A deep understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control methodologies is essential. This position requires analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding high standards of accuracy and efficiency within our logistics chain. Strict adherence to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE , is non-negotiable. While this role is less physically demanding than some, there may be occasional requirements for lifting or moving items during audits. Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control procedures and policies.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, optimize stock levels, and reduce waste.
  • Manage and maintain the warehouse management system (WMS) for inventory-related functions.
  • Coordinate with receiving, shipping, and production departments to ensure accurate inventory flow.
  • Implement strategies for improving inventory accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and the correct use of PPE .
  • Assist with the occasional lifting and movement of stock during audits or investigations.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a similar role within logistics.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to PPE guidelines.
  • Ability to occasionally perform light lifting as required.
