About
Seeking an experienced Material Handler to join our busy warehouse in Phoenix, Arizona. This role is crucial for the efficient movement of goods within our facility, supporting our overall logistics operations. You will be responsible for operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery to transport materials, load and unload trucks, and store inventory. Safety is paramount in this position, and adherence to all safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE, is mandatory. This job involves significant physical demands, including heavy lifting and operating equipment in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, containers, and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Stack and organize inventory according to established procedures.
- Perform pre-operation checks on equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through diligent material movement.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with receiving and shipping operations as needed.
- Practice safe lifting techniques when handling goods manually.
- Keep the work area clean and free of hazards.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or a minimum of 1 year of forklift experience.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items up to 75 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and material handling best practices.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge of logistics and inventory control principles is a plus.
