Rail Systems Engineering and Integration Leader

Mott MacDonald Canada is involved in major rail and transit infrastructure projects and is seeking a Systems Engineering and Integration Lead to support public and private‑sector clients. • Lead the Systems Engineering and Systems Integration elements of bids and projects within Mott MacDonald Canada, including system architecting, requirements management, and budget development/management.
• Develop, adopt, and deliver key Systems Engineering and Systems Integration processes and practices (SE, SI, RM, CM).
• Provide technical advice and leadership on Systems Engineering and Systems Integration management activities.
• Offer strategic and tactical support for Communication Systems, Signalling & Train Control, Traction Power, and Systems Assurance for MM rail projects across Canada and the US as needed.
• Support the development of MM Canada’s Rail Systems Practice.
• Select, develop, and work with key delivery partners and service providers for projects.
• Present to clients and project team partners.

• Degree in Engineering or a related discipline (Software, Engineering Physics, or Systems) from an accredited university.
• P.Eng in British Columbia, Ontario, or Alberta, or eligibility to obtain within 6 months.
• 12+ years’ progressive experience in Systems Engineering and/or Systems Integration, especially in rail, transit, or other public infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrable strength in at least two of the following (with working knowledge of the remainder):
  • System Engineering lifecycles
  • Systems Architecting
  • Requirements Management
  • Integration and Interface Management
  • Systems Assurance
  • IEC 1528
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Well‑developed knowledge of railway systems and operations within infrastructure projects
  • Experience defining and directing systems engineering and integration testing activities to meet project goals
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for planning, leading, and documenting technical meetings with clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulators
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multi‑disciplined team
  • Capability to hold competent technical discussions with client representatives
  • Interface skill with domain specialists, design managers, and construction project managers in a professional manner
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and mitigate interface and interoperability risks from safety and program management perspectives
  • Proactive pursuit of personal and professional development

In compliance with the B.C. Pay Transparency Act, the expected salary range is from $118,000 - $152,000 .
