The Position

As Trillium and Clinical Systems and Informatics (CSI) continue to expand, the Epic Applications Analyst will play a key role in supporting, optimizing, and maintaining the Epic Health Information System (HIS) . This highly motivated individual will apply their technical expertise and current Epic certification to support clinical workflows and ensure Epic applications meet the needs of both clinical users and business partners.

Reporting to the Manager, CSI Applications , or Manager, Epic Connect , the Epic Applications Analyst will be responsible for working closely with clinical teams to understand operational workflows , configuring Epic applications accordingly, and ensuring these workflows align with organizational objectives. This role involves collaborating with both technical and non-technical teams to drive system improvements, resolve issues, and support the effective use of Epic applications across the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

Epic System Support & Optimization

  • Design, build, test, and implement Epic applications in alignment with hospital workflows.
  • Analyze operational needs to configure Epic systems and inform workflow decisions by attending site visits, validation sessions, and other integrated sessions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that affect clinical users, workflows, and related application areas.
  • Continuously evaluate new features and releases to enhance system functionality and user experience.
  • Act as a secondary support contact for application end-users.

Collaboration with Clinical Teams & Business Partners

  • Work directly with clinical teams and business partners to understand workflows and ensure the system aligns with operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with the training team to develop training content and tip sheets to support end-users.
  • Attend regular team meetings to discuss deliverables, shared issues, and upcoming milestones.
  • Identify cross-application issues and work with relevant teams to resolve them.

Project Implementation

  • Assist in customizing, testing, and deploying new Epic features and updates.

Certification & On-Call Support

  • Achieve certification in the vendor’s application.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and be available for extended hours as required.

Other Duties as Assigned

Contribute to additional projects, initiatives, and tasks as required to support team and organizational priorities.

Required Qualifications

To be eligible for this role, applicants must hold active certification in at least one of the following Epic applications:

  • ASAP
  • EpicCare Ambulatory
  • EpicCare Inpatient Clinical Documentation
  • EpicCare Inpatient Procedure Orders
  • Grand Central
  • MyChart
  • Prelude
  • Radiant
  • Security

Candidates who do not have one of these certifications will not be considered .

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum two years of hospital clinical and/or hospital information systems experience .
  • Strong background in EHR support, implementation, and optimization .
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, test, and configure clinical systems and troubleshoot complex issues .
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Commitment to patient and staff safety in a healthcare environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative setting .
  • ITIL Certification (for service management and process improvement) is an asset.
  • ServiceNow Experience (for IT service and incident management) is an asset.

Clinical Applications Analyst Requirements (PG 10 Pay Band)

  • Minimum two years of hospital experience with direct patient care responsibilities .
  • Current registration in good standing with a Regulated Health Professions College .
