  • Product Owner 18 – Salaries typically range from $94,664 to $126,219 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance‑based incentive.
Location and Work Environment
  • Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week (subject to change).
  • Role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa or from one of our Community Hubs located in Toronto, Mississauga, Montreal, Laval, or Brossard.

Team and Job Overview

The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group is committed to delivering secure and reliable digital experiences. As part of the IIS Enablement Platforms team, you will shape the infrastructure that supports our network solutions.

Reporting to the Manager, IT Enablement Platforms, you will be a technical leader and SME for EDC’s network infrastructure, guiding the managed service provider and ensuring alignment with EDC’s objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Translate business needs into network strategies and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
  • Manage vendor relationships and governance frameworks to maintain accountability and performance.
  • Maintain deep technical expertise in enterprise network architecture (switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, cloud connectivity).
  • Assess and validate technical recommendations from vendors and service providers.
  • Lead without direct operational control, influencing external teams and stakeholders.
  • Foster collaboration and drive outcomes through partnership.
  • Apply network security principles and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Ensure resilience and continuity in a managed services model.
  • Communicate effectively with non‑technical audiences and represent EDC’s interests in tactical discussions.
  • Stay current on emerging technology trends (AI, AIOps, DevOps, automation) and influence continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree or college diploma in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience managing and maintaining network infrastructure and services.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Network Manager, Network Product/Platform Owner, or Network Team Lead, with stakeholder management, roadmap development, execution planning, and lifecycle management.
  • Deep understanding of the Network Lifecycle, including SDN, LAN/WAN, Data Center, Firewall/Edge, SWG/SASE, DDI, NAC, NDR, and NLB.
  • Experience in cloud networking services and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Experience in GRC with auditing and compliance attestation (CIS, NIST, or ISO).
  • Experience in ITSM/ITOM.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, critical and strategic thinking, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and initiative.
  • Adaptability in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
  • Collaborative mindset with problem‑solving attitude.
Desired Skills and Certifications
  • Network certifications: CCNA or higher.
  • Cloud certifications: Azure Network Engineer Associate or similar.
  • Product Owner Certifications (Agile): CSPO, SAFe PO/PM.
  • ITSM/ITOM Certifications: ServiceNow, ITIL.
  • Experience with Cisco technologies and Azure/VMware networks.
  • Experience with ServiceNow platform.
  • Bilingual in English and French.
