Coinbase seeks experienced backend engineers to develop the next generation of crypto-forward products. You will tackle large-scale, complex technical problems, bridging web-scale applications and blockchain technology. Your work will help make cryptocurrency accessible globally, operating real-time, high-frequency, low-latency applications within secure, cloud-based infrastructure.

What you'll be doing:

• Develop new services using Golang to address critical product needs.
• Design scalable systems with modern cloud technology and best practices.
• Define a long-term vision for maintaining and scaling backend systems and teams.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and leadership to create quarterly roadmaps.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code to serve customer needs.

What we look for in you:

• At least 5 years of software engineering experience.
• Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services with service-oriented architecture.
• Ability to produce high-quality, tested code.
• Passion for building an open financial system that unites the world.

Nice to haves:

• Experience with rapid company growth (startup to mid-size).
• Experience with growth experiments or A/B testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of Blockchain technologies like Bitcoin, Ethereum.
• Experience decomposing monoliths into microservices.
• Familiarity with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.
• Experience building financial, high-reliability, or security systems.
