Overview
The Bilingual Communications Coordinator – Programs reports to the Director of Volunteers and Programs and works closely with BCC Communications staff to create engaging visual storytelling, strong writing, and graphic design for BCC’s national outreach and engagement efforts.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation of promotional materials for BCC’s patient and volunteer programming.
- Coordinate and implement the overall communications strategy for Bladder Cancer Awareness Month, volunteer, and support program communications.
- Monitor analytics and provide reports on all campaigns, including social media, website, and newsletter analytics.
- Lead copy creation and proofreading for all BCC communications.
- Update BCC website content with current, relevant information.
- Refresh and streamline branding assets (logos, templates) ensuring consistency across all materials.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive promotional plan for BCC events, webinars, and patient programs to increase awareness and engagement.
- Design and administer surveys to gather insights from the patient community.
- Review podcast content, coordinate recording, and publish process with external partners.
- Support the development of marketing packages for support programs and promotion to health care professionals.
- Collaborate with staff across departments to support communication needs.
- Participate in monthly all‑staff meetings and team discussions.
Digital Communications & Social Media
- Oversee BCC’s social media accounts and create an implementation plan for BCC’s social media strategy.
- Develop original social media copy, graphics, and short‑form videos using Canva or external vendors.
- Schedule and publish posts, monitor paid social media advertising and boosting.
- Maintain a social media library of templates and ensure all materials adhere to BCC’s guidelines and brand standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Superior bilingual oral and written communication skills (English and French).
- Post‑secondary degree or diploma in communications, graphic design, marketing, journalism, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in a communications or digital media role with strong writing, design, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Comfortable being on camera and recording video.
- Excellent proficiency in social media platforms, scheduling tools, Canva, Buffer, Meta, and email marketing tools such as Constant Contact.
- Strong written communication and content curation skills; ability to manage competing priorities.
- Self‑directed work style paired with teamwork and shared goals within a close‑knit team.
- Experience in a health‑related field or non‑profit organization is an asset.
- Occasional evening, weekend work and national travel may be required.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Location
Work‑from‑home. The ideal candidate will be located in the Eastern Time Zone. Work is expected during normal business hours; occasional evenings and weekends for BCC events are possible.
Compensation
1‑year full‑time contract (37.5 hours/week) with a salary range of $50,000‑$55,000 per annum, benefits package including health, dental, EAP after probationary period, and three weeks of vacation per calendar year (pro‑rated to start date).
