Do you want to take a key role within a respected, Bristol-based Control Systems engineering company? We are recruiting an experienced
Electrical Design Engineer
to join a growing team delivering bespoke control and automation solutions across a wide range of industrial sectors.
This is not a copy‑and‑paste engineering environment. You’ll be designing electrical systems from scratch, working on varied and technically interesting projects across industries including defence, nuclear, FMCG, special purpose machinery, packaging, IIoT and R&D. Projects range from standalone hardware design through to full turnkey solutions from concept to commissioning.
You’ll be part of a close‑knit, friendly engineering team that values collaboration, technical excellence and continuous development. The Role:
Design electrical control systems for bespoke industrial automation projects
Produce detailed electrical schematics and drawings using EPlan and/or AutoCAD
Design systems in accordance with relevant standards including BS EN 60204 and BS EN 13849-1
Work on projects from initial concept through to commissioning
Collaborate with internal engineering teams and engage with customers when required
Support hardware design, system integration and documentation
Attend customer sites occasionally to support project delivery
Ensure all designs meet safety, quality and compliance requirements
Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and standards
The Person:
Experience in electrical design or control systems engineering
Competent using EPlan and/or AutoCAD
Good understanding of safety in systems engineering and relevant standards
Strong problem‑solving and organisational skills
Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
The Benefits:
Salary up to £45,000 per annum
£50 bonus for each day working on customer sites
£10 bonus per overnight stay (where required)
Guaranteed salary review within 12 months
Flexible working hours (Monday–Friday)
22 days annual leave plus bank holidays
