The Role
A great opportunity for a proactive and experienced professional to join our busy IT team, here at our Head Office in West Sussex
Reporting directly to the Head of IT, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the corporate network and server infrastructure. Assisting with the support, management and administration of the business network and IT systems, you will be capable of effective problem resolution and associated software administration. The workflow is fast-paced and requires the ability to respond effectively to change, challenges and priorities.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Support, maintain and proactively monitor the IT Infrastructure, including, servers, switches, backups firewalls and other network devices, both hardware and software based
Answer inbound calls from users on the IT support phone line
Maintain appropriate records of time, in the IT helpdesk, on all support and project work carried out
Perform server and security audits, and system backups and recovery
Design, develop and deploy LANs, WANs and wireless networks
Successful delivery of business projects and BAU administration, support and maintenance
Maintain the Microsoft Active Directory environment
Maintain and manage Barfoots voice and data lines and systems
Plan, manage and implement projects and upgrades to meet individual, team and company objectives
Identify opportunities for process and technology improvement
Ensure IT documentation and user guides are maintained to the highest quality and accuracy
Provide training to users of IT systems and applications
Support project delivery, upgrades and testing
Provide out of hours support for major incidents as part of an on-call rota (approx. 1 week in 7)
Requirements
Required Knowledge/Experience:
Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience working in a network / infrastructure support role
Proven and demonstrable experience in implementing and supporting IT infrastructure including servers, networks (switches), and security (firewalls)
General commercial and operational awareness of impact of business / user requirements
Excellent interpersonal, business management and customer-service skills
Excellent customer service skills, always striving to exceed expectations and to improve services to meet customer and business needs
Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical terminology to people with limited or no technical understanding
Ability to work to tight deadlines
Experience of planning and prioritising workload
Proactive and solutions driven
Extensive knowledge and proficient in the use of:
Server virtualisation, preferably VMware
Microsoft Windows Server 2012 / 2016 / 2019
Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Management
Microsoft Exchange Server
Cisco switches including VLAN technology
Firewalls, preferably PALO
Network printing
Network monitoring software
Network cabling (including Cat5 termination)
Desired Skills, Experience and Knowledge
Understanding of ITIL Framework
Microsoft certifications and Cisco certifications - desirable but not essential
HP Server Hardware
Microsoft SfB server
Microsoft SharePoint
Cisco Wireless Lan Controller
Understanding or knowledge of ERP systems
Understanding of telephony systems
