The Area Director for Utah County plays a vital leadership role in advancing the company's mission to provide high-quality, behaviorally informed services across residential, clinic, and community settings. This position is designed for an experienced leader with a strong background in behavioral health, operational management, and stakeholder engagement. The Area Director oversees a diverse portfolio of responsibilities, including organizational growth, staff development, program oversight, and community relationship building. By maintaining alignment with Crimson Heights' policies, standards, and long-term vision, the Area Director ensures operational excellence and a culture of accountability throughout the region.
Serving as a key liaison between the executive team, local leadership, and community partners, the Area Director is responsible for mentoring Associate Directors, ensuring compliance with state contracts, and promoting high standards of care across all service lines. This role requires strategic thinking, financial planning, and the ability to lead and develop teams that provide services at a high quality. From guiding team trainings and conducting audits to representing Crimson Heights in the broader professional and community landscape, the Area Director is instrumental in shaping the success and sustainability of Crimson's programs in Utah County and surrounding areas.
This position reports directly to the State Director and COO as well as reports to the Executive board.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to
Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
Create and maintain relationships with community stakeholders and other community and industry leaders.
Display leadership posture and decision-making skills to lead the ADs in the respective area..
Provide a professional public presence on behalf of the company.
Adhere to and communicate effectively short-term and long-term goals for the location and collaborate with the Area Director of Operations and executive team in communication about execution of these goals.
Work with System Manager on those who are below productivity, missed deadlines of documentation, and unapproved overtime to rectify repeating offenses.
Train location from the AD down to the direct support staff on administrative practices and Crimson infrastructure and protocols.
Collaborate with Clinical Directors and Clinicians for auth/preauth and communicate priority in the queue client systems.Staff development and culture creation in conjunction with Area Director of Operations and CEO.
Work in conjunction with Executive Team members on needs of location and growth of programs and diversification of funding sources. This includes working with Area Director of Operations and CEO in negotiating contracts within and outside of the State of Utah as well as developing new contracts and growth with current contracts.Participate in business development to ensure future growth and maintenance of relationships with all partnerships and community referral sources.
Participate in audits as requested, and work with Systems Manager.
Hold ADs accountable to all documentation standards and best practice for all documentation by direct support staff.The Area Associate will train Associate Directors on company values and standards promoting Crimson's mission and vision. Conduct leadership meetings with ADs, and DTX Manager & Community Manager.
Area Associate will participate in Weekly / Bi Weekly & Monthly meetings including but not limited to; Clinical, ABA, SOC/community, MAS, Safety Care, DTX Meetings, etc.
Teaching and sharing company policies and procedures and supervising the Team Lead training process.Understand and have training in behavior management and the functional approach to mental health, as well as an understanding of each department including residential services, community based/home services, ABA services, and PHP/Day Treatment/Outpatient services.Accounting responsibilities including but not limited to; Evaluating location budget and financial reporting, Audit Fidelity Checks and Behavior Management Checklists, PIP's assistance and training.
Oversee ADs vehicle and building maintenance requirements.Oversee residential programs and other DHS contracted programs and House Leads.Collaborate with the HR Administrator on internal HR reports as directed by Area Director of Operations.Hold performance reviews quarterly and annually for AD and DTX Manager and report to Area Director of Operations.
Respond to crisis situations and staffing needs as appropriate in collaboration with executive team members, clinical directors and ADs.
Other responsibilities may include; prompt response and resolution to issues from Client, consumer, caregiver, guardian, state workers, stakeholders, etc.
Train on policies and procedures and collaborate in the new hire module training.Medication Coordinator for residential program reports to the Area Associate and the Area Director of Operations. Audit medication management system and process and ensure all medication logs are compliant.Marketing and Business Development responsibilities: Nurture community relationships. SBHC, Post COOpt Case workers, Voc Rehab, DCFS case workers. DSPD support coordinators, School Administrators, Hospital Social Workers.
Community marketing and growth duties: networking groups and contact with community partners (DSPD support coordinators, Hospitals, Schools, Community Mental Health agencies and stakeholders).

Growth and Development:
- Outreach to get on panels,community group meetings, and reaching out to:
- Youth at Risk Community calls with (DHS)
- Calling on JJS caseworkers
- Crisis center relationship building and referral development
- SBHC- collab with Clinical Director for referralsSelect health, UHC, BCBS, Tricare, DHS, DCFS- calling on case managers
- Pediatricians in town, asking them for a 'trial' opportunity
- BMed- case managers
- IHC- autism referrals
- Mesquite Behavioral
- Parent support groups
- School districts and SPED Directors and counselors at schools
- Involved in IEP and transitions from Crimson to the school district and work with education specialist to build relationship with schools
Any additional tasks and responsibilities as determined by Area Director of Operations/or other executive team members.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education : Bachelor's Degree in behavioral health related field
minimum 3-5 years of leadership and management experience.
Preferred experience working with DHHS contracts and office of Licensing.
Business operations experience: Minimum 5 years
Organization behavior management: Minimum 6 years
Finance: Minimum 3 years experience
