Maintenance Supervisor/Technician

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the physical structure of the hotel. Duties include carpentry, routine plumbing, minor electrical work, minor mechanical repairs and other maintenance duties.

• Knows and observes safety precautions; inspects & reports discrepancies in policy regarding maintenance/safety
• Administer of an on-going preventive maintenance program for equipment and guest rooms; performs planned maintenance on equipment to prolong life and prevent shutdown.
• Responds to guest and staff needs, i.e., kitchen, lounge, laundry equipment, repairs, guests' complaints, TV problems, clogged toilets and drains;
• Records engineering log entries during assigned shift
• Assist General Manager in administering on-going program for orientation, training, and development of all maintenance employees
• Ensures that engineering employees keep all areas they are working neat and clean
• Knows and observes safety precautions, fire safety procedures and emergency action plans, and use of fire control/alarm systems and extinguishers
• Performs special projects as requested to enhance hotel condition and performance.
• Ensures all maintenance and repairs are completed on a timely, cost effective basis and according to all specifications
• Orders necessary materials and tools for repairing equipment and keeps within budgetary guidelines
• Requirements:
• Requires technical training in mechanical and electrical fields. Requires minimum of (1) year experience in air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating systems
• Ability to supervise
• Possess knowledge of chillers, cooling towers, chemical treatments, pneumatics, control systems, water systems, boilers, refrigeration, compressors, etc.
• 2-3 years of experience in an engineering position a plus
• Requires ability to professionally represent the hotel and communicate effectively with hotel staff and guests
