Location: Gunstones Bakery, Dronfield

Shifts: Monday - Friday (Days)


About the Role

We are recruiting a Maintenance Manager to lead a maintenance engineering team at our Gunstones Bakery site in Dronfield.

You will manage a shift consisting of 1 Engineering Team Leader and 5 Engineers, taking ownership of planned and preventative maintenance activities across the site.

The role focuses on planning maintenance work, improving equipment reliability, and supporting production in a fast-paced bakery manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the maintenance team on shift
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance works to support production
  • Develop and deliver preventative maintenance programmes
  • Monitor equipment performance and reduce unplanned downtime
  • Support the implementation and ongoing use of a CMMS
  • Drive continuous improvement in maintenance processes and reliability
  • Work closely with Production to minimise disruption
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with Health, Safety, Environmental, and food safety standards
  • Carry out root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and reporting

About You

You will be a time-served maintenance engineer with experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment. This role would suit both someone currently operating as a Team Lead or Supervisor who is ready to step up into a management position, as well as those already in a maintenance management role.

You will be organised, proactive, and comfortable leading a team while driving planned maintenance and improvement activity.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 Engineering qualification
  • Time-served mechanical maintenance engineering background
  • Experience planning and delivering preventative maintenance
  • Previous experience leading or supervising engineers
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Comfortable supporting system change, including CMMS implementation
