About
The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for managing and supporting the organization's core IT systems and infrastructure. This position serves as the primary backup to the Director of Information Technology and provides Tier 2 support for escalated technical issues. The role requires technical expertise and a strong focus on security and compliance to ensure the integrity of sensitive data and the reliability of IT operations.
Essential Functions- Administer Microsoft 365, Azure, Google Workspace, FoxIT, Nextiva VOIP, and other enterprise platforms.
- Manage user accounts (creation, deletion, permissions, audits).
- Configure and maintain routers, network devices, and security systems (Ubiquity, Cisco Umbrella, Cisco AMP, AlienVault, HoneyWell, OpenPath, Avigilon).
- Provide Tier 2 troubleshooting and resolution for escalated cases from Help Desk.
- Review open cases, identify backlogs, and ensure timely resolution.
- Perform quarterly audits of IT assets and user accounts across platforms.
- Enforce IT security protocols and assist with access control policies.
- Assist in developing and maintaining IT policies, procedures, and standards.
- Support provisioning of equipment for new clinics and central office setups.
- Contribute to knowledge base documentation and SOP development.
- Availability for occasional after-hours projects as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Ability to evaluate and prioritize requests in accordance with standards.
- Fundamental understanding of networking.
- Technical experience supporting Windows 11 operating system.
- Familiarity with cloud solutions and troubleshooting. Google workspace preferred.
- Experience supporting Chromebook and/or android tablets.
- Excellent organization and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, good oral and written communication skills
- Good organization and time management skills
- Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office or Gmail office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Occasional local travel in the Charlotte Region, 10-15%. Possibility for some travel to other office locations as necessary.
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, business administration, or management information systems and 5+ years of experience in IT system administration.
- Associate's Degree in applicable field and 5+ years of applicable experience.
- High School Diploma and 7+ years of experience in IT system administration.

- MS-900 (Microsoft 365 Fundamentals)
- AZ-900 (Azure Fundamentals)
- MD-100 Windows Client
- MD-101 Managing Modern Desktops
- AZ-104 (Azure Administrator)
- AZ-500 (Azure Security Engineer)
- Microsoft 365 Security Administrator Associate
